Maya Abdominal & Uterine Massage

In Mayan medicine and culture, a woman's uterus is considered her spiritual center and "second brain." It is the original source of nourishment that continues to supply women physically, emotionally, and energetically throughout their lives. "If a woman's uterus is out of balance, so is she," Don Elijio Panti, great Maya healer, would say. Unfortunately, most American women are taught to ignore this area. A doctor will often say, you have a tipped uterus, but that is normal and don't worry about it. Our common sense tells us that if an organ is out of place, there may be impaired function.

What is Maya Abdominal Massage?

Maya Abdominal Massage (MAM) is a gentle, external technique for guiding reproductive organs into correct position. A fallen or misplaced uterus becomes congested. This can lead to a variety of symptoms such as painful menstrual cycles or ovulation. Further, migraine headaches may ensue. This ancient technique aims to relieve the obstructions and return the body to health.

MAM has been known and practiced by the traditional healers of Central America and Asia for thousands of years. These slow and deep techniques soften the musculature, align the pelvic bones, adjust the uterus to the proper position and enhance the circulation of blood, lymph, nerve, and chi. Toxins are flushed and nutrients that help to tone tissue and balance hormones are restored.
